To clean a cupping massager, twist the cup off anticlockwise, wipe it with a soft dry cloth and never wet the main body. Skip alcohol and harsh cleaners. Check the small cotton filter once a month, and clean or replace it if it looks dirty or oily. A weak suction problem usually comes down to a cup that is not seated properly or a blocked filter.
After every session
- Press the release button and lift the cup off your skin.
- Switch the device off.
- Twist the cup off anticlockwise.
- Wipe the cup with a soft dry cloth. If you used oil, wipe a bit more thoroughly.
- Wipe the outside of the main body with the same cloth.
- Let everything sit for a minute, then refit the cup or put it in the pouch.
That is the whole routine. It takes about a minute.
What to use, what to skip
| Do | Don't |
|---|---|
| Soft dry cloth | Alcohol or harsh cleaners |
| Wipe oil off the cups after gliding | Wet the main body or run it under a tap |
| Keep the air inlet clear | Let oil run toward the inlet |
| Store it in the travel pouch | Leave it in a hot car |
The cotton filter
A small cotton filter sits in the device to keep oil and bits out. It does a quiet job, so it is easy to forget. Look at it about once a month, or sooner if you use oil often.
- If it looks clean, leave it.
- If it looks dirty or feels oily, clean or replace it.
- Never leave it damp. Let it dry fully before it goes back in.
If you glide a lot, the oil guide explains how to keep oil off the inlet in the first place, which is the best way to look after the filter.
Charging and storage
The RHYTIA massager is cordless and charges over USB-C. The 20-minute auto shut-off means you do not need to watch the clock, but charge it when you notice the level getting low rather than waiting until it dies mid-session.
- Store it dry, at room temperature, in the travel pouch.
- Keep the remote and USB-C cable in the same pouch so nothing goes missing.
- If you will not use it for a while, charge it now and then rather than leaving it flat for months.

Most care comes down to timing. Wipe the cups while any oil is still fresh, because dried oil is harder to get off and can leave the rim slightly slick. Keep the cups in the pouch rather than loose in a drawer, where they pick up lint.
If you share the device with family, wipe the cups between people. It is a quick job and it keeps things pleasant. And if you travel with it, pack it in the pouch with the cable and remote, so the first thing you do at the other end is not hunt for a charger.
Troubleshooting weak suction
The cup is not seated
This is the most common cause. If the cup is not twisted on fully, air leaks and suction feels weak. Twist it off, check the rim is clean and undamaged, then twist it back on until it stops.
The filter is blocked
If oil or dust has got into the cotton filter, air cannot move freely. Check it, then clean or replace it.
The skin is too oily or the cup is on at an angle
Too much oil can break the seal in rhythmic mode. Wipe the area, and put the cup down flat. On curved spots, try the small cup.
The level is set too low
It sounds obvious, but with 12 levels it is easy to be on level 1. Step up one at a time.
The battery is low
Charge it and try again.
If none of these help, get in touch with us through the store contact page. You are covered by the 14-day refund in the first fortnight. The how-to guide is a good place to double-check your steps, and the safety guide covers where not to use it.
It still feels weak after all that
Try a different cup. If one cup is fine and another is weak, the rim of the weak one may be dirty or not sitting properly. Also check you are not pressing the release button by accident while holding the device.
Common questions
Can I wash the cups with water?
Stick to the manual: a soft dry cloth. Do not wet the main body. Check the manual before using any water on the cups.
How often should I check the filter?
About once a month, or more often if you use oil regularly.
Can I use alcohol wipes?
No. Alcohol and harsh cleaners are best avoided. A soft dry cloth is enough.
How long does it take to charge?
Check the quick-start guide in the box for the charge time, as it depends on your adapter.
Who should check with a GP first?
If you are pregnant, have a pacemaker or another implanted device, have a health condition or take blood thinners, check with your GP before using a cupping massager.
